The NPApHC supports the Nez Perce tribal culture and the Appaloosa horse. Membership is open to everyone and to all horse breeds.
Club members who do not own horses or tack, use those donated by Club members and, if needed, those owned by the Chief Joseph Foundation or the Nez Perce Tribe.
The NPApHC is supported solely by dues, fundraising, donations and, most of all, by volunteer work of Club members. We currently have a 5-year partnership Agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for activities on the Nez Perce National Historic Trail.
----------------------------------------
Annual membership dues are $20.00 for individuals and $25.00 for families. Associate Members are welcome as well as donations for Scholarships (to help with dues or clinic fees).
Membership information needs to be updated, but in 2004, there were 76 NPApHC paid members. This number included 28 families with 40 youth and children.
The membership drive for 2006 is underway. Contact Rosa Yearout through this web site for more information (rosamy@direcway.com).
Your support for our efforts, in any way, is sincerely appreciated!
**************************************** IMPORANT CLARIFICATION: Although both the Nez Perce Appaloosa Horse Club (NPApHC) and the Nez Perce Tribe's Horse Registry for the Akhal-Teke/Appaloosa crosses (NPHR) have headquarters at Lapwai, Idaho, they are entirely separate organizations with different leadership.
Also, the NPApHC is NOT a part of the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) with headquarters at Moscow, Idaho. However, Jon & Rosa are members of all three horse groups.
See www.nezperce.org for information on the NPHR and www.appaloosa.com for the ApHC.
